Amnon became obsessed with his sister Tamar.
David sent word to Tamar … Go to your brother Amnon’s house.
“No my brother! Do not force me! Such should not be done in Israel!”
But he refused to listen and raped her.
Then Amnon said to her, “Get up and go!”
“Do not!” She told him. “Throwing me away would be a greater mistake than you have already done to me.”
Tamar put ash on her head and tore the ornate robe she wore. She put her hands on her head and left, crying aloud as she walked away.
Her brother Absalom said to her, “Do not take this seriously.” And Tamar dwelt in the house of her brother Absalom, a desolate woman.

SERIES: WOMEN IN THE BIBLE: THE HEROINES AND THE HARASSED
Title: Tamar
Size: 1.23m x 1.70m (48in x 67in)
Design for a tapestry
The scene begins in the right corner, where a beautiful and innocent young woman, Tamar, a princess, enters the house of Amnon, where she assumes that she will be safe, not suspecting the plot that is hatching.
The drama that will change her life forever begins to develop. The tragedy, the violation of her body, is multiplied by the rejection and indifference of her family.
The tapestry portrays a story of treachery. The loss of faith in those she trusts causes Tamar to become different characters: the one who accuses, the one who despairs, the one who screams and implores, and the one who sinks into discouragement.
