Leviticus I

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

                                           Leviticus 19:1

Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them,You shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy.

Inspired by the Book of Leviticus and in order to offer an illustration of Precepts, I fashioned a tapestry where I combine abstract symbolism with figurative depiction.

In Leviticus I majestic mountains and changing light prevail in the background, while a reminiscence of the Tabernacle stands in front of the congregation of the children of Israel.

They appear like blue shadows that crisscross the rocks in a land of burnt barley sugars and orange caramel colors, and they all listen reverently to Moses’ words and the Lord’s commandments.
